Prego update

Hey friends! Thought it was about time to post a little update on my pregnancy with baby #3 for anyone who is interested. The emotions and changes in my body seem so fresh right now like I will never forgot it but I know just months down the road I won't be able to remember anything! Any other moms like that?!

Right now I'm 28wks..going on 29...feeling like I am 35 :)

I had so little to complain about with my first 2 pregnancies, and this one is no exception.

11 weeks to go!!! Woohoo! Feeling great with minor discomforts.

Some other random things and fun stuff coming up...

* I love my long hot showers! They are my new best friend! Our mlgw bill not so much.

* My doctor is the best! So sweet and understanding!

* Passed my 6 month glucose test but was told I had put on a little to much weight to quickly :/ not sure how that happened?? Maybe that short season of pizza, muffins, and other delicious carb friendly snacks. I took the gentle warning seriously and have embraced the clean eating (for the most part), Zumba classes, and the treadmill again :)

* This little girl LOVES to move, flip, kick, poke..everything!! No complaining here I actually adore it because I don't remember the other 2 this active.

* Looking ahead to my next appointment on Friday to see her again and how much she has grown. Having a baby shower thrown by a sweet friend on the 18th!!! Super pumped about that!

That's about it for now. Taking one day and 1lb. at a time.

Are we waiting..

I find myself often "looking ahead" to the next big thing or event to begin planning for and anticipating. As of late it was our family vacation 11 DAYS with the people I adore more than anything. Before that it was Jared and I's 7 year anniversary date (that was simply heavenly), the start of the kindergarten school year, the beginning of summer fun, and swimming.

NOW...it's when will the summer heat go away, COME FALL COME, an October birthday party for my 6 year old, a November party for my 4 year old, decorating for all the fun holidays, Christmas time, and more vacations!!

I love thinking and planning ahead for all these things. I take joy in it. I love making memories, and I love just as much having pictures to document it :)) Time away with my family renews, refreshes, and draws us close.

I was reading in Titus this morning and was reminded that there is 1 absolute glorious and real event that should captivate our heart and be the sum of all our longings. Listen how Titus 2:11-14 describes it.

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,
12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Our Jesus is coming back! He will not delay. Our rescuer is coming again. Not as a baby but as KING!! Not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. Scripture commands us to be ready and waiting. It will come like a thief in the night. We are to be wise and have our lamps burning, to watch ourselves lest our hearts be weighed down with the cares of this life that the day come upon you suddenly like a trap. That one is personally convicting for me and one I need to guard myself of.

Above all the planning and anticipation of the exciting things (the little joys the Lord gives us as blessings here) in this temporary life I pray the Lord will daily draw yours and mine attention and focus back to his glorious appearing!

I want to be found waiting....waiting for HIM.

New names

It's 7:30p.m. on Saturday at the Olinger home. We are winding down for the night, but little do the kids know mom and dad have one of our every so often surprise pajama parties happening tonight! Today has been quite the day but I'm finally sitting down. I sped through the house as if I was overdosed on coffee and got the whole house picked up (not the way I would like it to happen) but hey nothing beats waking up on Sunday morning to a clean kitchen prepped for breakfast and rooms clean :) I'm actually sipping on my first cup of coffee for the day meditating on some scripture in The book of Hosea.

Before we leave to go to the drive-in I just wanted to share this scripture. If you find yourself reading this may the power and comfort of the Word wash over you as it has me in this brief still moment before HIM!

Hosea 2:23 "and I will have mercy on No Mercy and I will say to Not My People, You are my people, and he shall say You are my God."

Before we entered into a covenant relationship with Christ we were not of the people of God. We actually followed quite a different course. The course of this world the prince of the power of the air. We were spiritually dead to the things of God. No spiritual heartbeat, no spiritual brain activity. DEAD!

We were under the wrath of a HOLY and JUST GOD. In bondage to our sin we were without hope and our last breath taken on this earth would be followed by eternal separation from the one who created and loves us with an intensity we cannot comprehend.

It's truly unreal and I daily need to be reminded of the gospel and ask God that it never becomes dull or just "another thing" in my life. It is my life!

Take joy today! Rejoice right now in the moment you are in no matter what it is if you are a child of the Living God. He has given you a new name! You have his constant mercy promised to you. We are his people, and he is our God! Our names are written in his book. The book of life!!!!

A journey with prints of His goodness!

Hey Ya'll!

Wanted to share with you just another provision of the Lord as we get closer to traveling to bring our boy home.

We found out about 2 weeks ago that our homestudy was expiring due to the lengthy process that has taken much longer than we intended. There are now a lot of things that need to be redone, appointments to schedule, and extra payments that need to be turned in. We have four weeks (till the end of April) to resubmit it all. Praise God that we JUST got covered for health insurance as of April 1st after months of applying and being turned down.  He is soooooo good to us!

Over the weekend while carpet browsing with my sweetheart he got a call from one of his friends. This nameless friend wanted to know how things were coming along with the adoption. He has given to our adoption financially in the past, and this last gift came at the perfect time and the exact dollar amount that we needed to turn in :) he wanted to know if financially we were set, or if we were lacking and if so what amount.

i LOVE the way the Lord cares for us through using the body of Christ!!

All of the things we need to get done is going to cost us roughly $1500. Our friend wanted to provide whatever dollar amount it was going to cost to get the homestudy redone. man are we so grateful!!!! Thank you friend for your extreme generousity and listening to the voice of the Lord! We love you!

Our God is so good and all of his ways are so good!

"I am the Lord, in my time I will hasten it."

Isaiah can't wait to have our first family picture with YOU!

Draw near

Hebrews 10:5-7

5 Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, "Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me;

6 in burnt offerings and sin offerings you have taken no pleasure.

7 Then I said, 'Behold, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written of me in the scroll of the book.''

Lately Micaiah has been asking a lot about wanting to see God and what Jesus's body looks like. His mind is so filled with wonder as he is taking in new ideas and learning from mommy and daddy. They are taking so much in on a day to day basis I forgot how much little phrases and short teachings stick to their memories.

For example: our church just finished up 1Corinthians 12,13, and 14 as we will begin to put into practice the spiritual gifts during our Sunday morning service. 2 weeks ago we discussed tongues and prophecy. After the service the kids and I did a Costco run. We were passing by these 2 Chinese ladies having a discussion (in their language) as we were leaving and addy stopped me and said "mommy mommy look speaking in tongues" Oh my goodness!!!!! I love her!! I could not stop giggling over this :) As she sits with us each Sunday she is listening and these truths are sticking she just needs the shepherding of her parents to expound on it in a way she understands.

Ok. Sorry, I just had to share that.

Alright, lets keep going! When I was meditating on these verses above it reminded me of the sweet conversations that have been going on between Mac and I.

When the Son of God came to earth he came with a body that was prepared for him from the foundations of the world. Literally the Hebrew text reads "ears you have dug for me." He was the slaughtered lamb of God who would take away the sins of the world. Jesus Christ would put on flesh. 100% God 100% man. He would endure suffering and sorrow. Shame and rejection. Sadness and loss. Immense pain and abandonment. He became our sin so that we could become the righteousness of God. Perfect obedience to the will of God.

This perfect obedience paved a way for us to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence. Our long record of sin nailed into the precious hands of our Savior.

Oh to be able to draw near!

Draw near when our lips want to simply sing his praise

Draw near when distractions seems to be pulling us away from our Lord

Draw near when sorrow and pain seem like it won't cease

Draw near when our fuse is so short with our children just one more thing is going to send you flying over the edge.

Draw near for discernment in decisions for your life/families life

Draw near to a God who is "slow to anger and abounding in love" when we need his forgiveness

Oh to be able! As I write this for me personally I am so so thankful to be able to draw near to Him when sadness overwhelms my soul. His closeness is what gives me rest. We dwell in the shelter of the Most High. Psalm 91:1-2.

This week I know at least for me there will be things that will try to steal my attention and pull me away from that resting place rather than sink deeper into it. In everything may we seek to draw nearer and deeper!

Thanks for dropping in!

Steph

Isaiah Olinger

HIS STORY!

Isaiah's story for the most part I am unaware of. His exact age, the color of his eyes, his smile, what makes him happy & what upsets him, why he is in the orphanage, how long he has been there, and the state of his little heart.

God however is aware of every single little detail from before he was in his mothers womb. Details of his life that I will never know.

What I am confident of is that he is our son. We will love him and welcome him from the moment we see him! He will become a part of this family's story :) oh I can't wait!! And the 5 of us (and if the Lord sees fit to give us more children) are on a much bigger scale day by day taking part in His story and journey for our lives!

Most recent update: We are still #3 on the waiting list. Referrals have been stagnant for a while. From the most recent information we have received they are going to begin picking up again this month. We are hoping for a referral in March! We are all set to go. Give or take a few minor things ;)

Isaiah 60:22 "I am the LORD in its time I will hasten it."
